Allient Inc is currently in growth mode and currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team in Arvada, Colorado! The Business Development Manager is going to be responsible for driving new business growth and managing the sales process from prospecting through purchase order (PO). The Business Development Manager will be instrumental in expanding our market reach and revenue growth navigating complex sales cycles and securing new customers outside our existing network. Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prospect, and pursue new business opportunities within OEMs, Machine Builders, and Integrators across target market segments.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow revenue and meet profit objectives.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships by understanding their specific challenges and providing tailored automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and propose custom solutions incorporating Allient products and other technologies as needed.
  • Conduct cold and warm calls, lead generation, and follow-ups to convert opportunities into secured projects.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and bid packages in alignment with client requirements and project scope.
  • Utilize CRM tools (e.g., MS Dynamics) to track leads, opportunities, and pipeline status.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless handoff of projects post-PO for successful execution.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities and results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in business development, sales, or application engineering, preferably in custom automation, motion control, or power solutions.
  • Proven ability to identify customer needs and deliver customized automation solutions.
  • Strong technical acumen, particularly in motion control systems, electro-mechanical components, and automation technologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and developing new markets.
  • Proficient in CRM tools and sales tracking systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
