Position Summary
This role provides training, coaching, and compliance support for school districts operating under managed food service programs. The position focuses on nutrition education, menu planning, and maintaining compliance with USDA and state regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and confident in presenting to diverse teams. Travel is required approximately 40–50% of the year.
Seeking candidates who are preferably in Colorado or Texas.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training to teams at all levels on menu planning, nutrition, and compliance
- Create user-friendly training materials, manuals, and handouts to support education initiatives
- Stay current on federal, state, and company standards and ensure operational alignment
- Provide menu development support and guidance as needed
- Maintain and update menu planning software and nutrition databases
- Communicate regulatory information and company standards to internal and external audiences
- Provide hands-on support during Administrative Reviews and compliance assessments
- Develop creative solutions to overcome challenges in operations and compliance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to maintain best practices
- Travel to school districts regularly to conduct training and site support
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in school nutrition or foodservice strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field preferred (RDN highly desired)
- Strong training and presentation skills
- Knowledge of federal and state child nutrition programs a plus
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the year
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to manage own travel logistics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 5 hours)
- Regular bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), reaching, and walking required
- Travel by car and plane as needed for onsite support
- Varying environments including kitchens, offices, and school cafeterias
- Requires independent work and flexibility in scheduling
