Student Worker - MarComm Brand & Story Intern

Purpose/Objective of the Role:
The Department of Marketing and Communications (MarComm) is seeking a highly creative, organized and detail-oriented undergraduate student to join our team as a student intern. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, managing multiple projects, and supporting creative and administrative work in a fast-paced environment. The intern will gain meaningful experience at the intersection of media relations, strategic communication, and project coordination within higher education.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Assist the VP of MarComm with the development and execution of communication materials for the OWUMagazine.
- Write and edit content for a variety of platforms, including website updates, event materials, promotional content, and internal communications.
- Support departmental staff with event planning, logistics and/or promotion.
- Conduct outreach to student organizations and campus partners to support Marketing & Communications initiatives.
- Maintain organized records of content, project timelines, and communications efforts.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Currently enrolled OWU undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
- Interest in communications, marketing, PR, journalism, or higher education administration.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with digital tools such as Canva, content management systems, and social media platforms is a plus.
