Community Progress Council is on the hunt for a passionate, bilingual Self-Sufficiency Coach in York, PA—someone who is ready to spark change and uplift lives! In this dynamic role, you’ll be the heartbeat connecting our agency, the community, and the clients we serve. You’ll dive deep into one-on-one coaching, guiding individuals on their journey toward independence and long-term success. With the Community Needs Assessment as your compass, you’ll uncover gaps in services and help shape innovative solutions that truly matter. You’ll also build strong, collaborative relationships with local partners and CPC programs, weaving together a powerful support network that transforms lives across York County.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the vision, mission, and core values of Community Progress Council.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies and organizations to coordinate client referrals and services.
- Continuously assess and stay informed about community strengths and challenges to guide service delivery and identify programming needs.
- Co-facilitate and coordinate group learning sessions using the Getting Ahead in a Just-Getting-By World curriculum.
- Deliver coaching services grounded in Family Centered Coaching principles, emphasizing relationship-building to support clients in achieving self-sufficiency.
- Conduct comprehensive client interviews and assessments using the Self-Sufficiency Scale to identify strengths, barriers, and resource needs.
- Provide individualized, intensive coaching through a relationship-based, client-centered approach.
- Support clients in identifying actionable steps toward their goals and monitor progress over time.
- Offer guidance in decision-making, planning, budgeting, education, and financial support to help clients reach educational and employment milestones.
- Ensure coaching sessions are motivating and accessible, meeting clients in locations that are convenient and conducive to success.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation of service activities.
- Serve as a mentor, advocate, and liaison to ensure timely, effective, and confidential access to services.
- Prepare and submit timely reports to supervisors to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
- Represent the program and agency in community, professional, and stakeholder engagements as needed.
- Participate in CPC training sessions, committee meetings, and organizational development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of CPC.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, candidates may qualify with at least 60 college credits in a social service or related program of study, combined with two years of related experience.
- Supervisory experience is preferred and considered an asset.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole.
- Must possess reliable transportation and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
- May be required to begin the workday at various agency sites.
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a variety of variables in non-standardized situations.
- Exhibits critical thinking and sound judgment in decision-making.
- Must obtain the following clearances prior to hire:
- Department of Human Services FBI Clearance
- Pennsylvania State Criminal History
- ChildLine Child Abuse Certification
- Submission to the National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR)
- A physical assessment, including a tuberculosis skin test, and completion of the Child Abuse “Mandated Reporter” training are required within 90 days of hire.
