Pay Range: $100,000 - $110,000

We are currently seeking an Operations Leader to join our GFS Chemicals family. This position is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of all chemical manufacturing activities within the division. These operations include, but are not limited to:
- Bulk chemical manufacturing
- Small batch chemical manufacturing
- Solid chemicals break bulk and repack activities
- Aqueous chemicals bottling and packaging
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, or related field such as Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline preferred
- 8+ years of management experience preferred
- Prior manufacturing experience required
- Project management experience, PMP Certification is not required but is a plus
- ERP System experience (Dynamics 365 experience is a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent quantitative analysis skills
- Strong technology skills and willingness to learn new software technologies and tools
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
- Process thinking and design thinking skills
- Understanding of Lean Six Sigma and Lean Enterprise concepts, Green Belt or Black Belt are not required but are strongly encouraged
- Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control
- Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes
- Thorough understanding of budgeting and cost control
- Ability to understand the vision of the organization and translate it into specific plans and actions that drive business performance
- Ability to work collaboratively with all departments, management levels within the company, and external stakeholders
Daily Tasks:
- Manage the production manager and engineering manager directly
- Responsible for continuous improvement of processes and production activities
- Responsible for identifying new KPIs to measure and improve operations across the division
- KPIs which the Operations Leader will be responsible for include (but are not limited to):
- Engineered Cost vs Actual Cost MAPE
- Production Status Conformance
- Inventory Accuracy (MAPE)
- Labor Absorption %
- Lead, motivate, and support a team focused on meeting/exceeding customer expectations
- Actively develop skill base of organization and encourage career progression
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve proprietary tools and systems
- Work closely with safety, health and environmental personnel to ensure compliance
- Provide leadership to facilitate a productive, safe, and positive work environment focused on continuous improvement
- Monitor company revenue margins and conduct budget reviews to maximize profits
