Title:                   Head of IT and Business Applications
Reports To:        CFO
Location:            Lawrence, MA (Boston Area), with some remote flexibility (3 days in Lawrence HQ)

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the ultimate goal of this role is to increase financial performance and enhance data reporting by addressing cross-functional system needs to improve revenue, profit, and all organizational imperatives. This will be achieved by a high emotional intelligence IQ and a customer service lens first and foremost when dealing with all stakeholders.
 
The Head of IT and Business Applications is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and operations of the Little Sprouts business applications stack. You are the in-house expert, responsible for architecting, implementing and managing processes and systems, often times bridging newly acquired assets and existing practices. You are able to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, developing processes and implementing systems from scratch. Each business application will generate world-class reports that drive world-class results. You are hands-on and detail-oriented, as you will interact with various departments and external groups to achieve shared objectives. Empowering this growing organization through next generation technology, the IT Manager will ensure seamless integration of all business applications and leverage data to maximize performance. 


Innovation:
  • Develop, manage, implement, and monitor business applications, reporting, and analytics.
  • Perform gap analysis between financial, operational and HR tools’ functionalities to create comprehensive recommendation for next generation strategy.
  • Coordinate development of the Application Strategy and Roadmap with C-level executives and cross-functional team members.
  • Lead major group-wide IT initiatives (i.e. ERP, replacements, enhancements, etc.) as a subject matter expert and solutions architect.
  • Follow change control and SDLC to ensure proper validation of all applications in production.
  • Plan next generation business tools through business need discovery, scoping and ensuring best practices are applied to business processes.


  • Integration:
  • Ensure the effective integration of existing programs and strategies with newly acquired assets/schools to achieve long- and short-term business goals.
  • Manage requests from the parent company (Babilou Family) to meet deliverables and launch corporate-level tools at the local level.
  • Work with Finance and Treasury local and group teams to deliver change management to ensure new processes/technology are deployed effectively:
  • Improve and roll-out of the Procare School Management tool including reporting, BI tools, KPI’s and interface with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 accounting package.
  • Implement a new Treasury tool following Corporate Guidelines.
  • Map current accounting system to the new parent system that includes general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Build banking interface with the MS Dynamics 365 software platform.
  • Build interface between the payroll system and MS Dynamics 365.
  • Build interface between the current local finance reporting tool, and the target accounting tool, MS Dynamics 365.
  • Complete integration of the operational (Procare), sales (Child Care CRM), and applicant tracking (Lever, Paylocity) tools across all brands that have been acquired through M&A.
  • Document integration processes for future repetition with newly acquired schools.


  • Sustainability:
  • Oversee day-to-day sustaining efforts by training and supporting key stakeholders to optimize user experiences and performance.
  • Develop, train and upskill current staff. Currently there are 2 direct reports.
  • Regularly perform assessments not limited to system capacity, usage, adoption, security, and compatibility and develop plans to improve results throughout the business as it pertains to system assessments, adoption, overall usage, compliance, and workflow.
  • Provide communications regarding projects status to all appropriate parties throughout the lifecycle of the project, including communication with group headquarters (overseas).
  • Deliver projects in a timely manner within budget controls and defined quality standards.
  • Consult on or assume responsibility for general IT matters as necessary, including but not limited to phone systems, home-school communication platforms, hardware, and servers.

  • Who You Are:
  • BS/BA in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study or equivalent years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working within application management; 5+ years of experience implementing or overseeing large software packages (experience in a multi-site ERP environment preferred).
  • At least one full-cycle ERP implementation.
  • Familiarity with Data Strategy, ODS design, SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Microsoft BI and reporting tools.
  • Prior experience with a service business (including billing/invoicing and wage management) and associated workflows and system configuration across various software applications is a plus.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills; able to write clear and concise reports and business communications.
  • Microsoft 365 proficiency as an administrator
  • Strong ability to define and apply technology concepts to practical situations.
  • Able to learn new computer applications and technologies quickly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and well-organized.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, good judgment, and tact when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Proven history of achieving or exceeding organizational IT/IS goals.


  • How It Gets Done:
  • Is able to work at least a full-time, 40-hour a week schedule, sometimes off-hours as the business requires (i.e., deadlines, networking events, conferences, business dinners, etc.).
  • Is able to sit for long periods of time at a computer in a primarily sedentary position; manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Limited travel may be required (less than 10% of time), valid passport required.
