SUMMARY: The HR Specialist provides essential support to the Human Resources function by managing day-to-day administrative and operational HR tasks. This role ensures smooth execution of core HR processes including employee onboarding, documentation, compliance tracking, and HRIS data integrity. Working closely with the HR team, the HR Specialist helps maintain a positive employee experience and supports the broader HR strategy through accurate recordkeeping, timely communication, and responsive service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate new hire paperwork, pre-employment screenings, I-9 verification, and exit documentation. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all onboarding tasks.
- Maintain employee records in the HRIS system as needed, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with retention policies.
- Assist in tracking training completions, policy acknowledgments, and regulatory documentation. Support audits and reporting needs.
- Serve as a point of contact for routine HR inquiries, policy questions, and basic employee relations matters. Escalate complex issues to the Sr. HR Generalist.
- Support benefits enrollment processes and respond to employee questions regarding coverage, eligibility, and claims.
- Help organize interviews, training sessions, and HR-related meetings. Coordinate logistics and communication with candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain organized and compliant personnel files in accordance with company and legal standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in an HR support or administrative role.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic understanding of labor laws (EEOC, FLSA, FMLA, ADA) and HR fundamentals preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems preferred.
- Must have effective, professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders and ability to maintain complete confidentiality regarding HR/Personnel information.
