Where will you work?
Our Bethlehem, PA location is part of our Liquid Beverage division and specializes in coffee extract and flavorings created for Kerry products and customers!
What will you do?
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, especially when evaluating test data and determining responses to out-of-specification products.
- Conduct laboratory tests following approved methods and input results into systems like SAP.
- Apply and uphold standards such as GFSI (e.g., SQF), FSMA, GLP, GMP, and other food safety regulations and industry trends.
- Collaborate effectively, demonstrating strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain and manage product records, including incoming/outgoing tracking, retains, specifications, MSDS, TDS, and kosher documentation.
- Perform equipment calibration and maintenance in both lab and plant settings, ensuring proper functionality and compliance.
- Support audits and compliance efforts, including internal & external audits, and verification activities like pest charting and MSS tracking.
- Manage documentation systems, including site document reviews, updates, record registers, and obsolete procedure disposal (e.g., Intelex).
- Oversee food safety and quality systems, guiding others to minimize risks and meet expectations.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, collaborating with production to prevent out-of-spec products and troubleshoot problems.
- Evaluate raw materials and finished goods through sensory, physical, chemical, and instrumental methods per SOPs and specifications.
- Control inventory and disposition, including hold/release decisions, shelf-life extensions, and packaging/label approvals.
- Generate and manage data, including certificates of analysis, test panel results, and monthly KPI/QIP metrics.
- Participate in continuous improvement, collaborating with special processes and corrective actions for customer complaints and quality enhancements.
- Follow all safety and company protocols and take on additional duties or special projects as assigned by the Quality Supervisor
What will you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, or related.
- Relevant quality experience in food manufacturing (3+ years). Coffee experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Self starter attitude and comfortable working cross functionally.
- Any additional certifications like SQF, HACCP and/or PCQI are highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. SAP is a nice to have.
Compensation Data
The typical hiring range for this role is $64,479 to $105,272 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
