Qorvo’s RF Design Engineer Internships are offered in our Advanced Cellular business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

 

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Presenting measured and simulated data on the same plot for cellular TX or RX chains
  • Learning RF specs for cellular handsets and key performance indicators and spec limits
  • Using RF simulation software for multi-level simulations of cellular modules to compare to measured data
  • Using Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, RF Signal Generators, and other automated tools to perform characterization of engineering samples in the design engineering lab
  • Preparing engineering documents for communications with peers, customers and management
  • Constantly benchmarking simulation with measurement to ensure best in class product at first pass
  • Interacting with different disciplines and peers within Qorvo to deliver high performance and quality semiconductor products in mass production to our worldwide customers in mobile handset area
  • Contributing to cross functional continuous improvement efforts

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • RF circuit design coursework and/or experience
  • Experience with ADS / HFSS simulating RF circuits across frequency and output power, relying on laminate/PCB/package EM simulations
  • Exposure to RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers preferred
  • Experience in data analysis/mining/extraction statistical methods and tools
  • Software experience: Keysight/Agilent ADS, HFSS
  • Programming language for automating process: Python, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sense of responsibility
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

 

 

 

 

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location). Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability. Base compensation is one element of Total Rewards offered at Qorvo. More information on the Total Rewards package can be shared upon request.
