Axogen Mission and Business Purpose

Job Summary of the HRIS Analyst

The HRIS Analyst plays a key role on the Total Rewards team, serving as both an HR analytics expert and the primary administrator for the HRIS platform. This position is responsible for maintaining system functionality, identifying and implementing new features, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring data integrity through regular audits and corrections.

In addition to system administration, the HRIS Analyst develops and delivers key HR metrics that provide data-backed business decisions. With a focus on continuous improvement, this role supports workforce analytics on a variety of workforce trends which help the business improve outcomes and employee engagement. The ideal candidate has a strong background in HR data analysis and system optimization.

Key responsibilities include partnering with HR stakeholders to enhance system capabilities, streamline processes, and improve the overall employee experience. The HRIS Analyst also leads or supports technology projects, sets priorities for system enhancements, and contributes to a data-driven HR strategy.

Requirements of the HRIS Analyst

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, IT, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of HRIS/HR systems support experience, focusing on system configuration, workflows, and data analytics. 
  • Understanding or aptitude to understand recruiting, onboarding, HRIS, benefits, performance reviews, and learning.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report generation, with the ability to effectively communicate insights and tell a compelling story using Excel and PowerPoint or Power BI
  • Problem solver adept at leveraging technology, resources, research, and support to create solutions 
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and fluently adapt to changes in direction. 
  • Strong creativity and independent, alternative thinking to develop new ideas for and answers to work-related problems. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel 
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to all levels of the organization and business partners.
  • Preferred proficiency in developing dashboards in Power BI

Responsibilities of the HRIS Analyst

The specific duties of the HRIS Analyst include but are not limited to:

HRIS Administration & System Management

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the Paycor HRIS platform, responsible for system configuration, troubleshooting issues, managing user access/permissions, and implementing new features and modules in alignment with HR and business needs.
  • Maintain high data quality within HR systems by running queries, analyzing results, and performing regular audits to detect and resolve data inconsistencies. Implement processes that ensure data reliability and transparency. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Recruitment, and Organizational Development) to maintain accurate and consistent data flows between HR systems and ensure seamless integrations.
  • Own the issue resolution process for system errors and user-reported problems, including tracking, escalation to vendors when necessary, and timely communication to all parties, especially employees.
  • Evaluate and deploy new HRIS features and system enhancements, working closely with the HRIS vendor and internal stakeholders to maximize platform functionality and usability.
  • Develop, document, and maintain user procedures, training guides, and configuration documentation. Deliver training sessions and support for HR partners and other end users on system features and updates as needed.
  • Ensure data integrity and system accuracy through scheduled audits, data validations, and proactive quality checks. Implement corrective actions and process improvements to enhance system reliability.
  • Manage HRIS support tickets and stay informed of system roadmaps and upcoming releases.
  • Stay current on HRIS trends and best practices, participating in user groups, conferences, and ongoing training to improve system performance and usability.

HR Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze and interpret workforce data, providing insights into key HR and business-related metrics to support workforce planning and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and metrics using the HRIS and other reporting tools. Provide accurate, timely data to HR leaders and business partners to inform talent and organizational strategies.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to ensure the HRIS supports business reporting needs, including data alignment across systems and efficient data flow for accurate analytics whenever possible.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and policy alignment based on data insights and system trends. Work with leadership to propose and implement enhancements.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, providing technical system expertise and analytical support to meet evolving HR and organizational needs.

This position is eligible for an annual bonus.

Axogen follows healthcare system guidelines with respect to credentialing, vaccinations and other employment/compliance related requirements, as well as CDC guidance. Axogen reserves the right to amend its policies from time to time in its sole discretion.
