The IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager is responsible for, and leads, indie’s global datacenters, storage systems, virtualization platforms, domain services, and European IT operations.

Key areas of responsibility include vSphere, Docker, storage appliances, Mimecast security, internal and external domain services, and Microsoft 365.

This role will collaborate closely with operations and network/security teams to deliver reliable global IT support aligned with indie’s current and future objectives. The position reports directly to the Director of IT.

Responsibilities

  • Support primary datacenters in Manchester (UK) and Aliso Viejo, California (USA)

  • Administer, update, and maintain Microsoft Active Directory (on-premises and cloud)

  • Develop, maintain, and revise IT policies, procedures, standards, and system documentation

  • Support and contribute to global security initiatives

  • Administer vSphere and Docker environments

  • Support, update, and maintain Pure Storage, Synology, and QNAP appliances

  • Administer and support Linux- and Windows-based servers

  • Manage external domain hosting (DNS, MX, and related records)

  • Develop, test, and execute backup and disaster recovery plans for operating systems, databases, and servers

  • Support mergers, acquisitions, migrations, and integrations

  • Provide technical assistance for hardware/software issues

  • Coordinate PC repairs, hardware/software installations, and equipment delivery across Europe and Israel

  • Partner with the IT operations team to ensure timely end-user support through helpdesk and escalations

  • Configure, install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain desktops, laptops, and mobile devices

  • Support employee onboarding processes

  • Generate and maintain KPI reports for key IT metrics

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management


Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a supervisory role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, plus 8+ years of professional IT experience

  • Must be fluent in English (German or French a plus)

  • 5+ years of experience with IT service management tools

  • 5+ years of experience supporting engineering CAD environments

  • 5+ years of experience supporting and implementing SAN/NAS solutions

  • 8+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server (up to and including 2019)

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration

  • Strong experience with VMware, Docker, and other virtualized server environments

  • Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and WiFi (e.g., Netgate, pfSense, Ubiquiti)

  • Proficiency with endpoint software: Windows 10/11, CentOS, RHEL, and macOS

  • Solid background in server administration and architecture

  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Citrix, RDS, Exchange, VoIP, and VMware systems

  • Experience administering IIS, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong PowerShell scripting and basic coding skills
