The Purdue for Life Foundation is an organization that advances Purdue University by helping people who love Purdue stay connected, get involved, and give back. As the Alumni Clubs Operations Senior Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting alumni volunteers and strengthening Purdue’s alumni club network. You will partner closely with PFLF and University colleagues to empower alumni leaders, foster meaningful connections, and expand Purdue’s presence nationwide. Your work will directly contribute to building vibrant, engaged communities of Boilermakers across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of programs and initiatives related to Purdue Alumni Clubs and how they intersect with Engagement Pillars, Marketing and Communications, Finance, and Special Events.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and guide alumni club leaders through proactive communication, monthly virtual meetings, and consistent feedback.
- Identify opportunities to establish or reactivate alumni clubs; develop strategies for volunteer recruitment, retention, and leadership succession.
- Provide operational support to ensure smooth club processes and effective volunteer communication.
- Partner with the Alumni Club Executive Assistant to share operational and financial updates with club leaders.
- Represent alumni clubs at Purdue for Life and Purdue University events to strengthen campus partnerships and alumni engagement.
- Travel (15–30%) to club regions for recruitment, training, event support, and speaking engagements.
- Champion the value proposition of the Purdue Alumni Association (PAA) and alumni clubs, with emphasis on career and professional development.
- Connect students and young alumni (PASE, Graduates of the Last Decade, students) into the alumni engagement lifecycle.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Foundation and Engagement Team on initiatives that strengthen alumni engagement and community-building.
- Create and implement a fundraising handbook, tools, and resources to support clubs in scholarships, events, and community initiatives.
- Provide training, consultation, and best practices for fundraising, donor engagement, and stewardship.
- Collaborate with internal partners to align club fundraising with university advancement goals and compliance requirements.
Alumni Clubs Scholarship Program
- Contribute to strategic planning to strengthen and expand alumni club scholarship programs.
- Increase student applications and fundraising through targeted events, marketing, social media, and growth initiatives.
- Lead the promotion of the alumni club scholarship program, including planning, training, marketing, and execution.
- Serve as the primary contact for program administration, including promotion, timelines, review management, and coordination with students and clubs.
- Drive visibility and participation through events, fundraising, communications, and resource development.
- Partner with the Alumni Club Specialist to provide operational updates and award details to leaders and students.
Social Media & Digital Engagement
- Develop and manage strategies to increase alumni engagement through social media channels.
- Partner with Marketing and Communications to create professional, visually engaging content and assets for clubs across multiple platforms.
- Collect and analyze social media metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth) to monitor performance, track trends, and inform content strategy.
- Deliver insights, recommendations, and training to club leaders and senior leadership.
- Increase digital engagement across PFLF platforms (e.g., Purdue Ties, Hands On).
- Provide posting and administrative support for the Club Leaders Facebook Page.
Data-Driven Strategy & Optimization
- Manage tracking and reporting of alumni club program data, including social media, scholarships, and engagement metrics.
- Partner with Data Analytics and Operations teams to develop accurate dashboards and reports that inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.
- Deliver actionable insights to improve engagement strategies and club performance.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational reporting standards.

- Experience working in Salesforce, Ascend, or other Customer Marketing Software or database management preferred.
- Ability to work in a hybrid work environment with up to 3 days a week onsite in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Required Education, Experience and Benefits Summary
- Bachelor’s degree required in business, management, hospitality, organizational leadership, communication, marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Event planning, customer service, sales, communications, human resources, volunteer management, training or marketing required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
