Maps Credit Union seeks an experienced Systems Administrator to join our growing Information Technology team.  The ideal candidate for this role will have strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and group policy, DNS and DHCP, experience with Azure, Office 365 management, scripting, and the ability to configure and support virtualization environments and systems monitoring tools.  Please note that this is not a junior role, so prior experience as a Systems Administrator is required.


Key responsibilities include:

  1. Plan, design, implement, test, and support Credit Union business processes, with an emphasis in systems administration and security – including physical and virtual server environments.
  2. Administer Active Directory and appropriate group policies for all Credit Union domains.
  3. Working in conjunction with the Security Administrator, ensure all operating system and ancillary software packages are appropriately patched and secure, including antivirus and endpoint protection software.
  4. Work assigned support tickets with the requestor, vendor, or associated staff.
  5. Responsible for configuration, monitoring, documentation, and planning related to Azure virtual infrastructure. 
  6. Participate in the design, implementation, testing and documentation of disaster recovery plans for critical systems and processes.
  7. Evaluate, recommend and develop systems, processes and products to meet business needs.
  8. Provide project leadership in product research and testing, vendor requests, change implementation, hardware and software upgrades and migrations. 
  9. Provide system administration by documenting and monitoring the performance of Windows servers (e.g. Create documents on how applications are installed, configured, and supported, maintain statistics vital to Windows performance).
  10. Maintain Windows network operations by troubleshooting and solving software and network-related problems. Upgrade operating systems and hardware to accommodate Credit Union needs.
  11. Report to management on the status of various information systems projects, including ongoing updates related to security.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and group policy.
  • Experience with Azure (preferred) or AWS platform as a service (PaaS).
  • Office 365 management (Teams, Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Desktop Apps) desired. 
  • Ability to configure and support virtualization environments – Azure (preferred), Hyper-V (preferred) or VMWare.
  • Experience with systems monitoring tools – SolarWinds Orion (preferred), Nagios, Zabbix, etc.
  • Demonstrable skill with scripting – PowerShell (preferred), Python, Perl, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, presentation speaking capability, and demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to work with co-workers, members, and outside agencies professionally and tactfully.
  • Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracy.
  • Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor.

Requirements

  • BS/CS degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience with Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive professional experience in enterprise systems hardware and software architecture, acquisition, maintenance, support and migration.
  • Solid understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, LDAP, and Active Directory is required.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in technical customer support. 
  • Must be bondable.
  • Must submit to an annual background investigative report initiated by the Credit Union. The investigative report will include credit and criminal review, and results must meet the minimum standards established by the Credit Union in its hiring practices. Refusal to cooperate with this required investigative reporting or failure to meet the minimum standards established may result in immediate employment termination.

Exempt starting salary range: $98,727 - $120,667, depending on experience.


This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite and 3 days remote per week). We are unable to offer a fully remote work schedule.
