As Controller, you'll design and oversee financial systems that ensure clarity, accountability, and operational excellence. You’ll work closely with the COO and executive leadership team to ensure that TCL is positioned for scalable growth, financial stability, and compliance in a dynamic healthcare landscape.
This is a key leadership role for someone who can build systems, coach leaders, forecast for the future—and translate numbers into actionable insights.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
🛠️ Financial Systems & Controls
- Design and implement scalable systems (AP, AR, billing, payroll, close)
- Ensure all processes are documented, repeatable, and auditable
- Maintain strong internal controls with zero material weaknesses
📚 Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee bookkeeper and medical biller to ensure accurate and timely processing of all transactions
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting workflows
- Complete monthly financial close by the 15th, with 100% accuracy and audit readiness
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (and IFRS, if applicable)
- Prepare corporate tax schedules and returns; ensure accurate income tax compliance
- Provide the COO and CEO with clear, timely financial statements, dashboards, and variance reports
- Conduct ongoing financial analysis of results, trends, costs, and budgets
- Create and implement accounting policies and procedures to identify, resolve, and document issues
- Continuously improve close and reporting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy
💰 Cash Flow & Liquidity
- Manage weekly cash flow forecasts with ±5% accuracy
- Maintain operating liquidity aligned with business needs and growth planning
- Proactively flag cash risks and recommend mitigation strategies
📊 Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads
- Develop rolling forecasts that anticipate business needs and opportunities
- Provide variance analysis and coach leaders on financial accountability
📈 Strategic Financial Partnering
- Build and maintain financial models for growth, Medicaid, and expansion scenarios
- Identify cost savings, improve margins, and uncover revenue opportunities
- Prepare for Medicaid reimbursement changes with proactive scenario planning
- Act as a financial coach to the COO and leadership team—offering clarity and insight
👥 Team Leadership
- Manage and support the bookkeeper and medical biller with performance standards and accountability
- Establish KPIs for timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency
- Build a finance team culture rooted in clarity, integrity, and continuous improvement
📈 Success Metrics

Monthly Close Completed by the 15th, error-free
Audit Compliance. Zero material findings
Cash Forecasting Within ±5% variance
Liquidity Strategic reserves maintained
Budgeting 95–105% variance to actual

✅ Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in finance/accounting
- Experience managing financial systems in a $5M+ for-profit organization
- Proficiency with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling
- Strong systems knowledge (ERP, CRM, reporting tools)
- Experience leading and mentoring finance staff
- Excellent communication and ability to translate numbers into action

- Compensation: $80,000 – $120,000, based on experience
