Linux Systems Engineer/Developer

SUMMARY: 

Linux Systems Engineer / Developer designs, builds, and maintains robust Linux-based infrastructure and tools that support mission-critical applications. This hybrid role combines deep systems expertise with development capabilities to automate operations, enhance performance, and ensure system reliability across cloud and on-prem environments. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, configure, and maintain Linux servers and operating environments
  • Develop automation scripts and tools using Bash, Python, or similar languages
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-level issues
  • Implement security best practices, including patching, access controls, and vulnerability remediation
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize system integration and deployment workflows
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and recovery plans
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices using tools
  • Stay current with emerging Linux technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Proven experience as a DBA or in a similar role
  • Commitment to professional growth and learning 
  • Experience in Linux system engineering or development roles
  • Proficiency in Linux administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) and shell scripting
  • Experience with system-level programming, performance tuning, and kernel modules is a plus

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field 
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience
