We are hiring a Warehouse Manager to lead operations of a 296K sq ft warehouse with both chemical and industrial customers. This full-time salaried position will report to the Director of Operations and is responsible for achieving safety, quality, productivity, and profitability objectives while assuring our customers receive reliable and cost-effective service. Further responsibilities include regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee the daily operation of all transactions and recordkeeping.
- Coach, develop, document, and monitor employee performance, fostering professional growth.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and equitable work environment.
- Oversee overall facility performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial performance, ensuring leadership accountability.
- Interface with contractors, customers, and official persons, including Officers, Supervisory Inspectors, Port Directors, and RCMS representatives.
- Daily validation of regulatory information interfaced with the appropriate computer system.
- Oversee a diverse teams’ performance and retention, through coaching and ensuring appropriate employee training.
- Manage safety-related actions and documents, inspections, codes, design layouts, and security procedures.
- Ensure all operations adhere to industrial compliance with regulatory requirements by creating and following standard operating procedures.
- Analyze building financial and productivity/efficiency reports to control and manage direct expenses.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge of HAZWOPER and other topics.
- Respond promptly to all correspondence and phone inquiries
- Maintain and enforce codes, safety requirements, and security measures within the facility.
- Oversee building maintenance, and inspections, and address any concerns or requests.
- Attend workshops and training sessions to stay current with professional and technical knowledge.
- Cultivate a LEAN culture through continuous process improvements and effective measurements.
- Manage facility equipment needs and utilization based on current and projected business trends.
- Execute cycle counting plans and ensure inventory accuracy for audits.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Extensive experience in facility management within a 3PL or similar environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to respond to requests promptly and resolve issues quickly.
- Ability to lead a diverse workforce; to effectively develop employees and communicate objectives.
- Available during non-standard hours, access to a cell phone, and able to respond to after-hour emergencies.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and technology equipment including WMS and (RF) Scanners.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Five years’ experience in managing daily operations of a HazMat Chemical Warehouse operation, preferred.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and GHS is preferred.
- Minimum three years of previous leadership experience.
- Minimum three years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
- Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the company.
- Must be able to walk without aid or support for prolonged periods over concrete, gravel, and grass.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. if needed
