As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence.
Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.
The Customer Quality Engineer at BlueOval SK will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Main contact window of customer communication, such as managing customer issues (0km, field issue), Quality meeting, and so on.
- Responsible to manage 8D report for customer.
- Check and feedback first inspection of customer complaint products and report the phenomenon and deliver them to the nearest Production Plant in order to further analysis.
- Feedback customer’s voice to CS head-quarter appropriately by escalation process.
- Monitor non-conforming product and production problems in OEM.
- Respond immediately in the early stages of customer production with technicians.
- Support approval in regard of 4M change, requalification, product PPAP
- Review customer requirement and audit document with CS head-quarter
- Participate self-audit of production line with related departments in advance of customer audit
- Provide required support to customer during the audit
- Support other departments related customer audit.
- Support to prepare and submit customer-required report and documents to communicate with customers regarding each step of product part approval process with CS head-quarter
- Provide support including on-site inspections or interviews/presentations as needed to facilitate customer understanding of SKI’s capability to meet the customer requirements and specifications
- Monitor monthly market percent defective and quality cost
- Review cost sharing ratio by issue, calculate cost, and make decisions with CS head-quarter
Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess the ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through route cause analysis and drive change back to the production departments. Must have the necessary skill set to have job placement flexibility and the expectation to rotate to various positions within the plant such as Production or Quality
- Must display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System
- Must demonstrate the ability to execute to achieve results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities
- Must have the ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary)
- Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to support any shift in a 7-day work pattern
- Candidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phase
- Candidate must be willing to work remotely and in-person at temporary facilities as needed during initial plant start-up phase
- Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Possess certifications such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or VDA 6.3 Examiner.
- Possess 5 years of experience working in battery, automotive, ship-building, and construction industry (or similar industry)
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read & speak proficiently in English and Korean
