Located in our Dallas, TX corporate headquarters, the Analyst, will be a member of the Reporting & Analytics team within Invitation Homes’ Corporate Strategy & Finance group. The Analyst, Reporting & Analytics will play an important role in helping to monitor performance and identify trends that will shape strategic decision making and equip Invitation Homes’ leaders and capital partners to manage optimally. Responsibilities of the role will include analytical support of the Company’s strategic initiatives, capital markets activities, budgeting and forecasting, corporate finance & accounting, ESG and investor relations functions, and producing various financial and operating managerial reports.  In addition, the Analyst, Reporting & Analytics will track business performance, conduct ad hoc analysis, work with different BI and data visualization tools, and support other functional areas of the Company’s business, including Operations, Accounting, Asset Management and Investment Management. Through this role, the Analyst, Reporting & Analytics will gain exposure to many areas of Invitation Homes’ business, providing significant growth and development opportunities.

Invitation Homes has been among the top performers in the REIT space since its IPO in 2017, assembling a portfolio of over 85,000 homes valued at ~$30 billion.  The company today continues to produce strong operating results and expects fundamentals in the single-family rental sector to remain supportive of growth.  As a result, the company is seeking to add homes to its portfolio at the same time it pursues its constant mission to raise the bar for resident service and operational efficiency. The Reporting & Analytics team plays a critical role in that strategy by helping leaders of the business gain better insights for better decisions, and by helping to effectively communicate performance to external stakeholders. For this Analyst, Reporting & Analytics position, the team is seeking an analytical thinker who is detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-pace environment.  The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working with others, efficient with data, a strong communicator, and eager to learn.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain on-going managerial reports of financial and operating metrics and support Non-GAAP external reporting requirements using excel, KNIME, Power BI, Tableau, and other tools that access the company’s database.

  • Support FP&A’s annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing various financial and operational analysis.

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for the Company’s management team, Board of Directors, current and/or potential investors, research analysts, and current and/or potential lenders.

  • Support the Company’s quarterly earnings reporting process by assisting in the preparation of external Earnings Releases & Supplemental Information and internal materials to prepare senior management for earnings calls.

  • Assist in the preparation of debt reporting materials to help ensure compliance with lender requirements and debt covenants.

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials and memoranda presented to the Company’s Executive Committee, Investment Committee and senior leadership team.

  • Coordinating variance analysis and developing materials to provide insights and recommendations.

  • Partner with Business Analytics and other finance teams for key performance tracking and analysis

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and strong academic record in business or related field

  • 0-3 years of experience in financial analysis

  • Experience in FP&A, real estate focus, business analytics, data analytics, a strong plus

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • High degree of proficiency with Excel required, including comfort and familiarity with advanced Excel functions.

  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint, required.

  • Ability to analyze large sets of data, identify trends, and presents actionable insights.

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools a plus.

  • Comfort and familiarity with basic finance and accounting principles and financial statements.

  • Strong self-initiative, problem solving, decision making and multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to continuously deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

  • High degree of intellectual curiosity.

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; team-oriented.

  • Ability to read and comprehend financial statements.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work on a regular and consistent basis

  • Expected to be present in Dallas office most workdays, but flexible work arrangements can be accommodated whereby remote work is permissible up to 2 days per workweek on average

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is: $61,650.00 - $106,860.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
