The RNG HAZMAT Driver will provide extensive knowledge, experience, and leadership for the safe transportation of all natural gas products & projects. The role will be to operate and maintain equipment, support LNG & CNG delivery, and ensure overall project success while providing top-level customer service and leadership in the field. This position will report directly to the Director of Transportation.

 

The RNG Driver will be picking up loads in Cherryville, NC and/or Liberty, NC. The driver will have the potential to make full deliveries to Dublin, GA, or swap trailers with another driver halfway in or around Columbia, SC. The RNG HAZMAT Driver will need to be local to the Charlotte, NC Area. The driver should be home every night and potentially stay out one night should something arise.

 

Responsibilities for the RNG HAZMAT Transport Driver include, but are not limited to:

  • Route Information (approximately):
    • Must be local to Charlotte, NC Area.
    • The route will be approximately a 200–300-mile round trip
    • Will drive a day cab trailer that will be a CNG or a Diesel truck.
    • Should be home every night. Possibly stay out one night, if something arises.
  • Safely operate equipment for delivering, loading & off-loading LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) & CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).
  • Safely deliver a load of natural gas to various customer site locations.
  • Understand applications and limitations of company equipment
  • Participate in pre-job planning and implementation activities as required
  • Set up and move equipment to and around project locations
  • Identify potential issues with equipment & identify issues during pre/post-trip inspections
  • Properly report equipment defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to equipment
  • Operate mid-to-duty vehicles alone, combined with trailers
  • Secure cargo for transportation using chains, binders, tarps, bungee cords, and ratchets
  • Adequately document daily activities, hours of service, fuel tracking, and DOT regulations
  • Understand and comply with company standard operating procedures and policies
  • Understand DOT regulations, internal policies, government safety, and regulatory standards. Ensure these policies & standards are applied to daily activities.
  • Maintain a clean environment inside and outside of the assigned vehicle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications for the RNG HAZMAT Transport Driver include, but are not limited to:

  • US Military Veteran, National Guard/Reserve Member, or Military Spouse preferred
  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be local to Charlotte, NC Area required.
  • Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
  • 3+ years of CDL driving with HAZMAT & Tanker experience required.
    • Endorsements required: HAZMAT & Tanker (from permanent home state)
  • Familiarity with Samsara preferred.
  • Valid DOT & CDL license. Current DOT Medical Card.
  • All Drivers must have an acceptable motor vehicle record.
    • Must provide moving violations from the past 3 years.
  • Obtain Texas Railroad Commission LNG & CNG Certification (within 45 days of start).
  • Previous employers and references will be checked and must be verifiable.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with strong leadership qualities.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), mobile email & apps.
  • Able to respond to customers with courtesy and knowledge, in person and by telephone.
  • Apply good judgment and customer service skills and maintain a positive appearance.
