Description
Locally owned Community Hospice is looking to fill the position of ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM SUPPORT in our Foley office. Job duties are as follows:
· Answers and routes telephone calls to the appropriate team member
· Coordinates communication among team members and provides information or relays messages to patients and team members
· Collaborates within the interdisciplinary team setting as well as works independently with minimal supervision
· Completes workflow in the electronic medical record as assigned
· Prepares, sends and distributes faxes
· Scans documentation into the patient’s electronic medical record
· Collaborates with the Administrator to verify all orders and plans of care are properly authorized by the Medical Director in a timely manner in accordance with federal and state regulations
· Checks, maintains stock and orders medical supplies
Orders and faxes confirmation of all Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for pickup on death/discharge of patients; maintain accurate reporting of DME locations at all times
· Works as a member of special or ongoing projects and other related duties as assigned
· Faxes orders to Medical Director for signature, to facilities as needed
·· Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Three or more years professional work experience; hospice experience preferred
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work cooperatively with all members of the organization
· Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team, with strong organizational skills
· Extensive computer and database experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet and mail merges; prior use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
· Must be able to prioritize duties daily in response to rapidly changing patient care needs; ability to utilize outstanding customer service skills
· Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order; ability to travel to all business locations for training and/or meetings as required
