Account Director
Location: London
Type of contract: Permanent
Flexible working: 3 days @ office, 2 days WFH
The Role
As Account Director, you work closely with both the Client Director and Senior Account Director to manage both global & regional multi-channel business across a number of clients and identify new business opportunities.
You also manage projects from inception of client brief through to final fulfilment of media plans for multi-channel projects including press/print assets, OOH/DOOH advertising & online materials such as social media imagery, display banners and emails.
Your tasks and responsibilities include overseeing all client activity to ensure work is consistently delivered to an exceptionally high standard and responsible for managing the team workload, maximizing use of resource and proactively tackling related issues.
You are responsible for the development of Senior Account Managers, Account Managers and Account Executives in your team in addition to overseeing the day to day running of the business.
Responsibilities
- Ensure processes are upheld and improvements are implemented.
- Ensure client KPIs and SLAs are adhered to.
- Identify new business opportunities across your client accounts.
- Responsible for the development of Senior Account Managers, Account Managers and Account Executives in your team through on-the-job coaching and performance appraisals.
- Report to Client Director and assisting with business development when needed and provide regular updates on the day-to-day management of the accounts.
- Adherence to Omnicom Production working practices and utilisation of all Omnicom Production/client/agency workflow tools.
- Resolve differences without compromising on the quality of the work and implement ideas with the support of your CD/SAD.
- Notify clients of any projects about to go over scope and charge additional revenue.
- Have a solid understanding of the legal/regulatory issues and strong, effective relationships with approval bodies for your clients as required.
- Lead regular meetings with the finance team ensuring we are managing our finance processes in the most efficient way possible.
- Responsible for the financial and usage reporting for the accounts and ensuring all team members are successfully upholding their financial responsibilities on Omnipro.
- Accurately forecast revenue and profit and play an important role in fee negotiations.
- Assist CD/SAD and implement plans to meet profitability targets and ensure the agency billing hour rate target is met.
- Have a deep understanding of the Client's business, their requirements and a good comprehensive understanding of the strategic direction of the business.
- You have a solid understanding of the brand's marketing and communication strategy and its position in the marketplace.
- Help CD develop marketing and business strategies that build the Client's and Omnicom Production’s business.
- Heavily involved with the Omnicom Production system specification, implementation and review. Ensuring the team and client are successfully trained on relevant systems.
Direct to Consumer (D2C) Account Director Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding D2C strategy, execution, and performance. Build and nurture strong client relationships to understand business goals, D2C objectives and success metrics. - Strategic Leadership:
Oversee comprehensive D2C strategies tailored to client needs, including e-commerce, digital marketing, CRM and customer experience initiatives. - Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate with internal teams (creative, digital,strategy) and external partners (media agency) to deliver various D2C campaigns and activations throught the calendar year. - Budget & Resource Management:
Oversee D2C budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve client objectives. Manage forecasting, billing and reconciliation processes. - Innovation & Best Practice:
Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the D2C space. Proactively identify new opportunities to drive growth and enhance the customer journey. - Risk & Issue Management:
Identify potential risks or issues affecting D2C and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve them efficiently. - Project Management:
Lead the planning and execution of D2C projects from inception to completion, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience working across creatively driven and often complex multichannel projects, preferably within a creative advertising industry or in-house marketing communications department.
- Proven experience working directly in partnership with creative teams (conceptual, editors, design, copy etc).
- Passion for the advertising and marketing industry with a keen eye for current trends, culture, and emerging markets.
- A hungry, flexible, resourceful and highly organised individual with strong attention to detail and a drive for excellence in delivery.
- Someone who loves to collaborate with different team members inside and outside of the organisation, to get the job done.
- A strong verbal and written communicator with excellent presentation skills, who can find the right balance of knowing when to over-communicate vs. when to keep things concise.
- Experience in efficiently scaling channels over time.
- Experience in successfully managing cross-channel marketing programs on a global-scale.
- You are inquisitive and team oriented, with the ability and vision to define the day-to-day aspects of your primary role while keeping focus on its larger goals.
- You are a problem solver, someone who is not afraid to ask questions and hold clients accountable and can connect the dots quickly.
- You keep integration and collaboration top of mind, making sure all parties are informed on either side.
- Resourceful, adaptable, creative, and results oriented with high energy, a positive attitude, and the ability to contribute in a team environment.
