Job Summary:
The Career Academy Manager is responsible for coaching, development, and work production of all assigned staff. The Career Academy Manager is committed to achieving programmatic goals, ensuring high-quality services and program alignment to the mission of Goodwill Industries of Tulsa, Inc. This position assures compliance with licensing and credentialing bodies, including but not limited to: Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools; Council on Law Enforcement and Education Training; and Tulsa Technology Center.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations, supervising Career Navigators, Instructors, and contract instructors, some evenings are required.
- Ability to analyze workforce-related trends to provide workforce development training and career navigation strategies and solutions.
- Recruit, mentor, and conduct annual Career Academy staff evaluations.
- Partner directly with the Chief Mission Officer in developing and implementing mission-based, annual plans and strategies leading to measurable outcomes for program participants.
- Prospect, recruit, and maintain employer partnerships creating pathways to industry-specific employment opportunities for Career Academy clients and graduates.
- Lead effort to build and maintain partnerships producing participant referrals in collaboration among nonprofit, State, and community action groups.
- Work closely with OKDHS, ensuring compliance related to SNAP or other barrier-removing, client-centered benefits.
- Assure the successful implementation of annual plans and KPI’s to meet and exceed program and organizational goals.
- Provide program recruitment strategy and monitor workflow and processes aligned with enrollment standards.
- Assist in setting program budgets, maintain accurate financial records, code and submit invoices and department expenditures in a timely fashion
Other Job Functions:
- Oversee job placement and client follow-up process.
- Provide supervision and fidelity to policy and best practices related to intake, enrollment, assessment, career goal setting, and ensure electronic documentation in the program’s electronic CRM (Customer Relationship Management system); ensures compliance with HIPAA policy where necessary.
- Maintains a positive, public-facing presence as a Goodwill representative in the community.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all Goodwill policies, including safety, ethics, and EEO.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Work, Mental Health or related discipline required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Other Requirements:
- 3+ years of previous experience in workforce development, counseling, health, business, or related field.
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and change‑management skills.
