The Purpose:
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Graphics Print Operator to join our team. This hands-on role involves producing high-quality graphics using a variety of print and finishing equipment, assisting with day-to-day production tasks, and traveling to show sites for installations approximately 15% of the time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working both in a production environment and on-site at events.
The Job:
- Operate industry-standard print and signage equipment including Onyx RIP software and FlexiSign.
- Execute print jobs using aqueous, solvent, latex, and UV direct printing technologies on a variety of rolled and rigid materials.
- Perform finishing processes including vinyl weeding, taping, application, lamination, and mounting.
- Operate cutting equipment such as Zünd or other modular/digital cutting systems for precision trimming and contour cutting
- Travel to trade shows, events, or client locations for graphic installations.
- Safely transport, install, and occasionally remove signage and display graphics on-site.
- Perform routine maintenance on print and finishing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the graphics production room according to safety and efficiency standards.
- Assist with inventory tracking, updating count sheets, and restocking materials.
- Manage intake of supplies and ensure materials are stored correctly and accessible for production use.
- Finalize print jobs by packaging, labeling, and preparing them for outbound shipment according to SOPs.
- Maintain accurate and complete job paperwork and documentation for tracking and accountability.
- Coordinate with warehouse, CAD, and production teams to ensure all required materials and information are available to complete graphic jobs efficiently.
- Communicate job statuses, material needs, and production concerns in a timely and clear manner.
- Ensure and review quality level of graphic work being produced within our standards
- Maintain standard organization of files, proof setup/review, and other Graphics SOP.
- Adhere to all Graphics safety guidelines.
The Person:
- 2+ years of experience in wide-format printing, graphics production, or a related industry preferred.
- Familiarity with Onyx RIP software, FlexiSign, and digital cutting systems such as Zünd is a strong plus.
- Willing and able to travel up to 15% of the time for onsite installations, including occasional overnight stays.
- Strong attention to detail, effective time management, and ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Physically capable of lifting and handling materials related to graphics production and installation.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for travel responsibilities).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor, both in the shop and on-site.
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Smartsheet, across both Mac and PC
- High school diploma required; additional technical or vocational training in graphic production or related fields is preferred.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
