What We’re Looking For:

Shell Recharge Solutions is seeking a Manager DevOps to transform our product vision into operational code. We are eager to find a highly engaged leader who is passionate about software engineering, reliability, monitoring, and incident management. This individual should aim to develop a world-class DevOps team and possess an "automation first" mindset, with a relentless focus on documentation, quality, scalability, and reliability using Infrastructure as Code tools. Although this is a management role, our ideal candidate is capable of and excited to lead by example when necessary. Consequently, you will have significant influence on the design and architecture across the enterprise.

 

This position will be part of a great team that is developing exciting products and solutions and playing a key part in driving forward the electrification of transportation.  

What You Will Do 

  • Mentor and Lead: Guide and inspire a team of enthusiastic, highly motivated DevOps Engineers.
  • Infrastructure Refactoring: Refactor production infrastructure, making accurate decisions for future capacity, scaling, and expansion.
  • System Improvements: Design and implement improvements to existing systems based on past incidents, using systems knowledge to triage problems and optimize resource usage.
  • Everything-as-Code: Apply an "everything-as-code" philosophy across configuration, infrastructure, and orchestration methodologies to ensure fault tolerance and resilience.
  • CI/CD Management: Manage and oversee software and database deployments, designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • AWS Specifications: Define technical and architectural specifications for AWS services, participating in ground-up infrastructure design and planning for future products and services.

 

 

Who We’re Looking For: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Experience:
  • 4+ years in DevOps and infrastructure design and orchestration, overall exp. 9 – 14 years. 
  • 2+ years of recent experience managing direct reports, demonstrating strong people management skills with a proven ability to hire, coach, and grow talent within your team(s).
  • 2+ years of recent experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
  • Skills (or experience):
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management (CM) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.
  • Proficient  in design, development, and optimization of highly available CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo CD etc.) to enable fast, secure and scalable deployments.
  • Proficiency with container technologies like Docker,  Swarm, and Kubernetes in a production environment.
  • Prior experience in building and maintaining robust monitoring, logging and observability tools like Dynatrace, ELK etc. ensuring proactive identifications and resolutions of issues. 
  • Experience in building dashboards and applying metrics for improving KPI(s).
  • Prior experience to work with messaging solutions i.e. KAFKA, Queues or streaming technology etc. 

and NoSQL, RDBMS and  caching solutions.

  • Experience in building and maintaining cloud based IoT or SAAS platform environments for multi-region/multitenant environment. 

 

  • Experience in cloud provisioning, auto-scaling and decommissioning using modern infrastructure practices. (Highly desirable)
  • AWS Professional Certification or demonstrable similar experience. (Desirable)
  • Proficiency (any) in Java, Go, C#/C++, or Python. (Desirable)
