Position Summary:

The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager by managing technical aspects of commercial construction projects, including coordination of design, submittals, procurement, and quality control. This role ensures construction activities comply with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Project Engineer collaborates closely with project teams, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to help deliver successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents for technical compliance.
  • Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve design and construction issues.
  • Assist with procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and quality control, including site inspections and reporting.
  • Support project scheduling and cost control efforts.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical support to the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies.
  • Assist with project closeout activities including punch lists and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a construction engineering or project support role.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency with project management and construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
