The Role
The Corporate People Business Partner at FreshDirect plays a key role in shaping the employee experience and driving our culture forward. This is not just an HR role—it’s an opportunity to be a trusted advisor, thought partner, and problem-solver across multiple corporate functions. You’ll work side by side with leaders and employees at every level, helping them navigate complex challenges while creating an environment where people can do their best work.

What You’ll do
1. People & Culture Partnership
- Serves as a contact for employees in multiple business segments.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with all levels of personnel.
- Provides expertise, consultation, guidance and coaching to managers to address employee behavior and performance concerns; provide guidance and assist with the development and delivery of appropriate feedback or corrective/disciplinary actions, in alignment with FreshDirect policies, practices and values.
- Answers questions regarding policies and procedures and assists in resolving complex issues.
- Uses skills as an experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
2. Employee Relations & Compliance
- Manages ER case work, including gathering and analyzing facts, applying relevant laws, policies and past practice to reach conclusions and recommendations.
- Leads processes such as workplace accommodations, leave management, and involuntary separations.
- Manages multiple functions, including benefits administration, employee relations, regulatory compliance, training, and performance management.
- Knowledgeably applies state and federal employment/labor laws and practices to ensure compliance.
- Constructively evaluates current practices and offers innovative approaches for improvement.
3. Talent & Organizational Development
- Partners with hiring managers and talent acquisition to shape recruitment strategies and workforce plans.
- Participates in interviews and provides guidance on best practices.
- Engages in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies and workforce plans to respond to the dynamic marketplace.
- Experienced in creating and executing people strategies that drive organizational effectiveness and culture.
Education and Qualifications:
- Education: BA/BS degree required
- Experience with Benefits Administration with self-funded employers preferred.
- HRIS experience in ADP, Kronos, or other systems required
- Microsoft Office proficiency required in Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive HR experience in an HR Manager role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of state and federal employment/labor laws and practices
- Self-starter with a high sense of urgency, productive mindset and capability, and with the motivation to assume significant responsibilities as an HR business partner
- Ability to influence positively across organizational levels
- Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions
- Experience with full employee life cycle
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture

• Compensation: Expected salary range of $90,332–$106,273 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed during the interview process.
