THE POSITION
These are your key tasks
Creative Direction & Brand Expression
- Own, drive and oversee the full creative process from concept to execution across channels and live events, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with FIFA’s brand vision.
- Translate strategic briefs into compelling, innovative, and culturally resonant visual narratives.
- Direct and produce creative content across event branding, venue dressing, broadcast environments, digital experiences, motion design, and video content.
- Develop key visuals, brand toolkits, motion graphics packages, environmental branding concepts, and digital-first creative assets.
Project Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead multidisciplinary designers and creative partners to deliver cohesive, high-impact work across formats and platforms.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Events, Digital, Communications, Broadcast) to align creative outputs with business and brand objectives.
- Brief, manage, and evaluate external agencies, production houses, and freelancers, ensuring creative alignment and production quality.
- Present creative strategies and visual concepts confidently to senior management and non-design stakeholders.
Brand Guardianship & Design Systems
- Ensure strict adherence to FIFA’s visual identity standards, while pushing creative boundaries within those frameworks.
- Steward the consistent use of brand assets across all touchpoints, including licensing, partnerships, and fan engagement initiatives.
- Help evolve and expand FIFA’s brand guidelines to adapt to emerging formats and channels, particularly in digital and motion.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in senior creative or art direction roles within agency, entertainment, media, fashion, FMCG, or sports-related industries.
- Strong background in 360° brand campaigns, with demonstrated experience in experiential design, digital content creation, motion design, social-first campaigns, and broadcast/venue graphics.
- Experience working with large-scale live events, from concepting event look & feel to developing venue branding systems (wayfinding, signage, overlay).
- Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related creative discipline.
- Proven expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
- Solid grasp of video production pipelines and ability to art direct edits, storyboards, and motion graphic sequences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word) with excellent layout and presentation-building skills.
- Deep visual sensibility and an understanding of brand identity systems across static, dynamic, and environmental media.
- High-level conceptual thinker with a passion for visual storytelling, motion language, and digital engagement.
- Hands-on art direction skills, capable of leading from the front while mentoring junior creatives.
- Skilled at balancing creative ambition with operational precision and production feasibility.
- Experienced in managing multiple concurrent projects under tight timelines, with consistent attention to detail and creative quality.
- Familiar with rights management, usage permissions, and protection of brand and design IP.
- Excellent communicator and presenter, able to articulate and defend creative rationale to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Team-oriented and collaborative, with a senior attitude towards stress and pressure.
- Strong project management and sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ready to adapt based on rapidly changing environment.
- Experience managing in-house teams and/or agency relationships, including performance feedback, resource planning, and budget oversight.
- Strong understanding of FIFA’s global image and strategic objectives, with a deep respect for the role of football in culture.
- Fluent in spoken and written English is mandatory.
- Proficiency in French, Spanish, German or Arabic is an asset.
- Willingness to travel.
- Readiness for stand-by duties during major tournament time.
