 JOB SUMMARY: 

The Sr Sales Manager is responsible for achieving assigned goals related to the overall performance of the hotel. This individual will effectively solicit and secure new accounts. The Sr Sales Manager will work closely with the General Manager to meet the hotel’s revenue and market share goals for one or more properties. The focus of sales may vary depending on the property to which the associate is assigned (e.g., Leisure, Business Travel, Group, SMERF). 



JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES: 

*Effectively achieve assigned sales and revenue goals, as well as solicitation call targets

 *Proactively make solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT), and/or Groups, depending on the assigned property 

*Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT), and/or Groups, as applicable to the property 

*Monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment 

*Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner 

*Adhere to Avion's established regulations, company standards, sales standards, and sales metrics 

*Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and relevant departments 

*Maintain strong visibility in the local community and industry organizations, as applicable 

*May assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions related to direct sales segments, such as sales blitzes, etc. 

*Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and other functions as required by management 

*Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales 

*Access back-of-house areas of the hotel and sensitive information 

*Interact and occasionally have unsupervised contact with guests and/or colleagues 

*Access and control sensitive areas in the hotel premises, including Master Keys and/or guestrooms, storage/liquor room, and secured file cabinets 

*Drive safely on behalf of the company for business 

Requirements

 EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: 

*High School diploma or equivalent required; previous Hotel Sales experience preferred 

*Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state 

*Must possess developed verbal and written communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell, and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guests, and/or corporate clients 

*Experience with professional selling skills desired: opening, probing, supporting, closing 

*Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office products 

*Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks; strong organizational and presentation skills
