Security Operations Manager
Location: Windwalker Group Headquarters – Charlestown, MA
Reports To: Senior Operations Manager / Director of Protection and Preparedness
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Security Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing physical security operations across Windwalker Group’s enterprise. This position ensures the highest standards of service delivery, personnel management, and client engagement in alignment with our core values of professionalism, preparedness, and partnership. Operating out of our Charlestown, MA headquarters, this role will support both internal operations and client-facing security services throughout the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage physical security operations across Windwalker sites and client accounts, ensuring safety, service excellence, and compliance.
- Act as a strategic partner to the Senior Operations Manager, Director of Protection and Preparedness, and executive leadership in aligning security operations with company objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, resolving service issues, and driving operational improvements.
- Oversee scheduling, staffing, and performance of security personnel to ensure proper coverage and effective service delivery.
- Develop and maintain post orders, operating procedures, and emergency response plans tailored to each site.
- Produce and analyze monthly and quarterly operational reports for trend analysis, contract performance, and business reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners (vendors, consultants, investigators) to support integrated security initiatives.
- Lead or support security planning for special events, including logistics, access control, visitor registration, and on-site coordination.
- Partner with the Recruitment Team, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of security professionals; provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management as needed.
- Ensure all operations adhere to Windwalker’s policies, values, and applicable regulations.
- Proactively identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies to protect people, assets, and information.
- Represent Windwalker at client meetings, stakeholder briefings, and community engagements when required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6+ years’ experience in security, law enforcement, military, or security operations management.
- Reliable transportation and communication (cell phone).
- Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment screenings, including drug testing.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Demonstrated leadership in a fast-paced security environment, including hiring, training, and managing field personnel.
- Experience with security technologies.
- Knowledge of 24/7 monitoring center operations and emergency response procedures.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with a track record of operational efficiency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with data analysis/reporting.
- Skilled in customer service and client relationship management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiar with business operations, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Culturally competent and able to work with diverse populations and teams.
- Ability to travel occasionally as required by business needs.
