Here's what you will do....

  • Lead kick-off and project requirement meetings.
  • Complete advanced design, development and testing of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Conduct the installation, commissioning and operation of mechanical equipment and systems – which may include travel to the customer location.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of pneumatics and pneumatic components.
  • Assist in the mechanical building of systems as needed basis on our shop floor.
  • Use basic shop floor tools for assembly and part modifications.
  • Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test, and analyze the performance of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Create mechanical design and drawings using appropriate GD&T.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting, testing, and debugging.
  • Create and update project documentation in accordance with prescribed standards.
  • Support on-site field service and emergency calls. 
  • Assist with quoting projects, writing specifications, and creating schedules and technical reports.
  • Use independent judgement in problem solving following established guidelines.
  • Give technical guidance to less experienced engineers or technicians assigned to work on a common project.
  • Propose projects or ideas that improve, augment, or reduce costs of current processes or designs of projects.
  • Act as own project manager for assigned projects.
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of parts and components.
  • Complete complex design and development of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Select and coordinate technical solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Provide technical management of projects.
  • Lead the building and testing of prototypes according to general instructions and established standards.
  • Assist with quoting projects, writing specifications, and creating schedules and technical reports.
  • Use independent judgement in problem solving following established guidelines.
  • Develop specifications, schedules, technical reports and budgets.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of combined relative education and work experience with at least 4 years of experience in mechanical design creating 3D models and drawings for customized automation systems.
  • Proficiency in Outlook/Microsoft Office products.
  • Hold valid driver’s license with ability to drive to customer sites.


Preferred Experiences:

  • Industrial machine design with focus on assembly machines, testing fixtures, material handling, and robots
  • Automation design with focus on sensing, safety, and pneumatics
  • Solidworks and/or DraftSite
