The Role

 

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer (Backend) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be a strong backend engineer with deep expertise in Java, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies. This role is hands-on and highly collaborative, ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-transaction environments.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop APIs and RESTful services to power scalable applications.
  • Work with core Java, J2EE, Kotlin, and GraphQL in building backend services.
  • Implement caching strategies using frameworks like Redis or Ehcache.
  • Build and deploy containerized applications in Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Leverage Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, JMS, and ActiveMQ for enterprise-grade development.
  • Work with Oracle 12c+ databases—design schemas, optimize queries, and write efficient SQL/PLSQL.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot systems with APM tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or NewRelic).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-quality, performant, and secure software.

 

What You’ll Bring (Must Have)

  • Proven expertise in API design and backend development with Java and J2EE.
  • Hands-on experience with Kotlin and GraphQL.
  • Strong background in caching frameworks (Redis, Ehcache).
  • Container orchestration knowledge with Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Practical Linux/Solaris knowledge and shell scripting skills.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in Spring Boot, JPA, JMS, and messaging systems like ActiveMQ.
  • Strong database expertise (Oracle 12c+, SQL, PL/SQL, schema design, query optimization).
  • Familiarity with APM tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or NewRelic.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in fast-changing requirements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A high-energy, motivated approach to building impactful solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in E-commerce or high-transaction processing systems.
  • Familiarity with web fundamentals (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SEO, accessibility).
  • Exposure to JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, React, Node.js, Ember) or build tools (Grunt, Gulp, Bower).
  • Knowledge of CSS frameworks like Bootstrap, Foundation, Sass/LESS.
  • System administration skills (load balancers like F5, firewalls, Akamai).
  • Experience with PCI compliance and modern security standards.
  • Background in data science or machine learning algorithms.

Compensation: Expected salary range of $120,000-$140,000- per year, based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed during the interview process.
