The Voter Services Specialist is responsible for performing election administrative work of a significant, complex, legal and technical nature in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant must be self-motivated, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and oral communications. A Voter Services Specialist is responsible for developing a strong proficiency in entering voter registration information accurately and a good understanding of the various corresponding resources associated with voters and the registration process.
Position Duties
- Perform clerical duties as assigned, including but not limited to, answering and directing phone calls, processing mail, processing records electronically, and assisting constituents in-person.
- Establish and maintain work relationships.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with coworkers and constituents.
- Serve as the contact person for deputy registrars.
- Assist in maintaining the Lake County voter registration database.
- Other duties, as assigned, in support of elections operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to follow directions and problem solve.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of times.
Education
- Undergraduate degree preferred, but not required if candidate has relevant work experience.
- One to three years of experience in an administrative support or comparable role.
