The Duracell Research and Development organization researches and develops novel materials, products, and processes to continually deliver next generation technologies improving our products and manufacturing systems around the world. This technician level position will work as part of a team tasked with execution of product cell builds to evaluate new materials and cell designs as part of the continual product development process. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to a healthy team culture in this fast-paced R&D learning organization.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Alkaline Cathode Lab
• Batch Weighing of Raw Materials
• Loading, Unloading and Operation of Processall Mixers
• Roller Compactor Granulator Operation for powder densification
• Sweco Sieve operation for Particle Size Separation
• TRP 700 Rotary Press – set up, changeover and operation for pellet making
• Consol Recompactor Simulator operation
• Particle size distribution measurement via Gradex equipment
• Carbon % measurement via Horiba carbon analyzer
• Materials moisture measurement via Mettler moisture analyzer
• Recompacted console dimensional measurements
• Pellet dimension measurement via air gage
Alkaline Cell Assembly
• Materials Preparation
• Semi-auto cutting of separator material and inspection via Optical Comparator
• Sealant portioning and verification with viscometer
• Laser etching bar codes onto cans/consols
• Console moisture measurement
Note that:
• The position requires the worker to wear specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• The worker will be enrolled in the respirator fit program and Nickel monitoring program.
• Raw material weighing, mixing and granulating are physical jobs that require some degree of lifting and dexterity.
• This includes physical lifting of material containers from floor to waist height (typically 20lb but up to 30lb weight).
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Mechanical aptitude is required due to the mechanical nature of the process equipment.
• Familiar with basic statistics and adept at data processing (Excel)
• Excellent Microsoft office skills
• Must adhere to safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
• Able to maintain clear, accurate records.
• Listens and communicates effectively – great verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work as a strong, dependable, and accountable team player and build collaborative relationships.
• Should have a technically curious nature and actively seeks out knowledge.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS
• Experience working with chemicals in a lab or technical environment.
• Experience operating equipment using a Human Machine Interface is preferred.
• B.S. in a technical/science field is preferred but A.S. would be considered for a strong candidate.
