Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of roadway, bridge, and multi-modal projects for public and private clients. This is the place where great ideas and rewarding careers can really take off.
Stantec is seeking a Traffic Design Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team in the Raleigh, NC office. This position provides a valuable opportunity to contribute to our experienced traffic design group while working closely with our roadway, structural, and planning teams. This individual will support the traffic design group in areas of signal design, work zone traffic control, signing and pavement marking design. We're seeking candidates currently pursuing a BSCE in civil engineering who are passionate about advancing transportation safety and efficiency through innovative design. A strong desire to learn, curiosity, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and designers of all experience levels are key to supporting the delivery of high-quality plans to our clients.
Qualifications
Your Key Responsibilities
- Assist with MicroStation drafting and design, and preparation of construction documents
- Gather Project Data
- Prepare and assemble reports and drawings
- Perform routine calculations
- Observe and attend meetings with design team, and other project stakeholders
- Other related tasks as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Literacy in MicroStation is an asset
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction
- Ability to work independently
- Must have a good driving record, and valid driver’s license
Education and Experience
- In progress towards earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
