Position Summary

The Community Relations and Branding Coordinator is a dynamic and pivotal role responsible for shaping and communicating the voice of High Desert PACE. This individual will serve as the primary liaison for our community communications, overseeing our organization's messaging, branding, and public presence. The ideal candidate is a natural relationship-builder, a strategic communicator, and a creative thinker who is passionate about serving the senior community. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining strong relationships with community partners, managing our brand identity across all platforms, and enhancing our public relations efforts.


Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement & Partnership Building:
  • Proactively identify, establish, and nurture relationships with key community partners, including healthcare providers, senior centers, local businesses, and non-profit organizations.
  • Represent High Desert PACE at community events, such as Chamber of Commerce meetings, healthcare fairs, Rotary Club gatherings, and other networking functions to increase organizational visibility and build beneficial partnerships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for community inquiries and collaborations.
  • Branding & Messaging Oversight:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a consistent and compelling brand message across all communication channels.
  • Ensure all external materials, including brochures, advertisements, press releases, and digital content, adhere to brand guidelines and effectively communicate our mission and services.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring a positive and professional image for High Desert PACE within the community.
  • Media Production & Advertising:
  • Participate in and coordinate the production of media content, including print/digital advertisements and promotional commercials.
  • Collaborate with external vendors such as creative agencies, videographers, and printers to produce high-quality marketing materials.
  • Ensure all advertisements and promotional content are on-brand, impactful, and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Public & Media Relations:
  • Develop and execute public relations strategies to enhance the organization's reputation and visibility.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other materials to local media outlets.
  • Cultivate relationships with local journalists, bloggers, and media representatives.
  • Digital Media Management:
  • Oversee and manage all official High Desert PACE social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to optimize strategy and engagement.
  • Collaborate with our website developer to ensure the site is current, accurate, and effectively communicates necessary updates and information to the public and our participants.
  • Internal Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Business Development department and the Enrollment Team to align community outreach efforts with organizational growth goals.
  • Support enrollment events and initiatives with targeted communication and promotional strategies when appropriate and necessary.
  • Provide regular updates on community relations activities and outcomes to the Executive Director and leadership team.

Skills & Abilities

  • Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in community relations, marketing, branding, or public relations.
  • Experience with coordinating the production of marketing or advertising materials (e.g., commercials, print ads).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience managing professional social media accounts and developing digital content.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to network and build lasting professional relationships.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media management tools.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to events throughout the High Desert region.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience working in the healthcare, non-profit, or senior services sector.
  • Familiarity with the High Desert community and its key stakeholders.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) are desirable.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid Work Environment: This is a hybrid position that combines remote work, in-office collaboration, and significant field responsibilities.
  • Field Responsibilities: A substantial portion of this role requires being actively present in the community. This includes frequent local travel throughout the High Desert region to attend meetings, events, and build partnerships.
  • Flexible Schedule: This position requires a flexible schedule, with the ability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate community events.
  • Physical Demands: The role involves a mix of sedentary work using a computer and active engagement at events, which may require standing for extended periods, walking, and light lifting (e.g., promotional materials, event displays).
  • Travel: A valid California driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
