About the role

Band 5 - base salary from $121,231 per annum (plus super) - total package to be negotiated with preferred candidate based on skills and experience 

We’re looking for a commercially savvy and detail-driven professional to lead TasNetworks’ transmission customer management and metering operations—ensuring compliance, managing contracts, and building strong relationships across the energy sector.

As our Transmission Customer & Metering Manager you will:

  • Lead the ongoing management and re-negotiation of Connection Agreements within our Transmission Connections Portfolio, while also overseeing the operational requirements and integrity of the Transmission metering system to meet customer and business needs
  • Ensure TasNetworks complies with its regulatory and contractual obligations for our Connection Agreements and Transmission Metering services
  • Manage and re-negotiate metering agreements to achieve great outcomes for TasNetworks and our customers.
  • Develop, review and maintain a charging methodology for TasNetworks’ transmission Metering Coordinator services.
  • Collect and analyse customer and metering data to address concerns, anticipate needs, and improve services.
  • Provide monthly performance reporting encompassing customer contractual obligations, Metering Coordinator requirements, risk/issues and opportunities.
  • Monitor industry and technology trends, advising on opportunities.

 

 

About you

You’re a strong communicator, problem-solver, and negotiator with a customer-focused mindset. You combine strong technical knowledge of energy metering with commercial acumen and a decisive approach. You will also bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, project management, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the National Electricity Rules, Metering Coordinator obligations, and ideally the large-scale renewable energy market.
  • Experience negotiating and managing commercial agreements.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Analytical skills to interpret and act on complex data.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in SAP, SharePoint, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and trusted relationships.
