Could you be the full-time onsite APM Field Service Engineer in Chicago, IL, US we’re looking for?

 

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll maximize customer satisfaction and project performance by coordinating, managing, analyzing, and reporting on Vehicle Testing and Commissioning for the Bombardier-provided scope on the Chicago O’Hare ATS Program. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance), facilitate and interface with Alstom engineering on technical issues, and much more."

We’ll look to you for:

  • Coordinating, managing, analyzing, and reporting on Vehicle Testing and Commissioning activities to maximize customer satisfaction and project performance. ,

  • Developing cost- and time-effective solutions for Operations and Maintenance issues in collaboration with internal and external resources. ,

  • Performing adjustment or recalibration of defective equipment that is out of service or removed due to failure. ,

  • Facilitating and interfacing with Alstom engineering on technical issues related to the operation and maintenance of the APM system. ,

  • Documenting daily activities and reporting weekly via time sheets and monthly through internal reports. ,

  • Verifying existing documentation or creating new/supplemental work instructions or SOPs as directed. ,

  • Supporting all systems on the wayside, including SCADA, CCTV, PA/PI, and network equipment, as well as systems on vehicles such as VATC, TCMS, propulsion, and HVAC controls. ,

  • Demonstrating key activities to Operations and Maintenance personnel to enable their independent performance of tasks. ,

  • Participating in on-call duty to cover weekends and holidays as needed and performing shift work based on operator issues. ,

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and maintaining a strong focus on customer needs and interface requirements."

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic studies or equivalent education and experience. ,

  • Experience or understanding of Railway Signaling, APM vehicle subsystems, and working on a field site. ,

  • Knowledge of relevant US and international industry standards. ,

  • Familiarity with systems such as VATC, TCMS, network equipment, BWAN, PLC, CCTV, PA/PI, propulsion, Aux power, HVAC controls, SCADA, and NMS. ,

  • Strong analytical and communication skills. ,

  • Skill in using measuring equipment. ,

  • Ability to make decisions and take ownership when necessary. ,

  • Proficiency in reading Primavera or Microsoft Project schedules. ,

  • Superior planning and organizational skills. ,

  • Understanding of customer needs and interface requirements.
