Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: The Berryessa Apartments - Columbus, OH 43229
Scheduled Hours: Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm, with an on-call rotation every two weeks
Pay Rate: $25 - $27/hour (based on experience and qualifications), plus commissions and incentives
Who You Are:
- Experience: 1+ year in multi-family residential maintenance
- HVAC Troubleshooting & Repair: Skilled with older systems, package units, and refrigerant handling (certification preferred)
- Plumbing: Experience with galvanized, cast iron, copper, and PVC; line repairs; and water pressure balancing
- Appliance Repair: Proficient with stoves, refrigerators, and laundry equipment (including older models)
- General Maintenance: Knowledge of electrical, carpentry, apartment turnovers, grounds, lighting, and more
- Customer Service: Strong communication skills and a cheerful outlook when assisting residents
- Initiative: Ability to work independently, take ownership, and complete tasks efficiently
- Diligence: Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work
- Tools: Must own basic hand tools
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable with basic computer and smartphone use
- Essentials: Valid driver’s license with a reliable truck or van for work use and auto insurance
- Compliance: Willing to submit to a drug and background check if offered the position
What You'll Do as a Maintenance Technician:
- Maintenance Tasks: Perform repairs and upkeep in HVAC systems, plumbing (including pipe repairs and water pressure balancing), appliance repair (stoves, refrigerators, laundry equipment), electrical, carpentry, locks and keys, apartment turnovers, groundskeeping, and lighting
- Work Orders: Complete resident work orders promptly while ensuring the community remains in top condition
- Emergency Response: Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed while on-call
