The Loan Closing Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Mortgage Banker by reviewing application and rate lock documentation. Acting as a liaison, the specialist ensures that applications meet Freddie Mac and Berkadia guidelines and prepares Berkadia Commitments and rate locks. Additionally, the Loan Closing Specialist assists Closers in coordinating, monitoring, and resolving closing and pre-closing issues across various platforms, including client relations, legal, underwriting, and servicing. The specialist also supports the TPE Team with third-party engagements as needed.
We Innovate to shape the future of CRE, so in this role you will:
- Review application and rate lock documentation.
- Prepare the Berkadia Index Lock Agreement and Berkadia Commitment; ensure all rate lock items are received prior to rate lock.
- Rate lock all Freddie loans; ensure rate lock is perfected and distribute information to all relevant parties, including Mortgage Banker, Counsel, and Closer.
- Assist Closers in coordinating the commitment, closing, and delivery phases of loans to ensure commitment requirements are met within specified timeframes for optimal execution.
- Record loan and closing information in OmniView, the company’s system of record.
- Track post-closing documents and coordinating with external counsel and servicing to upload these documents promptly.
- Reconcile good faith accounts and perform various other accounting functions related to closing.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned to support the goals of the company’s Closing function.
- Assist with Third Party Engagement activities to support the TPE Group.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Location:
This position will be Hybrid and require in-office work based out of Berkadia's Dallas office.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using loan management systems and software, such as OmniView.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar position preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
