Temporary- Part Time (0.5 FTE)

Hours:

Monday: 7:30am to 4:00pm

Thursday: 7:30am to 12:00pm


Position Objective

The Employee Health LPN is responsible for professional operations of Employee Health Services in accordance with company policies, practices, procedures and applicable regulations to achieve the desired goals and objectives. This position is responsible assisting with the building safety, infection prevention, and Employee Health Services policies and procedures.  Along with nursing duties, the position will be responsible for a variety of clerical and general office duties including setting up appointments, billing out invoices, creating and submitting reports and ordering office supplies.

Essential Responsibilities

The following description of responsibilities to be performed is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. 

 

Employee Health Service Delivery

  • Assist in the implementation of work place wellness, disease prevention and safety programming for employees including program scheduling and delivery of programs. 
  • Assisting with the record keeping process for all Workers’ Compensation injuries for effective claims management 

 

Collaboration Skills 

  • Assist in the investigation, monitoring and documentation of illness and injury trends 
  • Act in compliance with all state and federal regulations that govern the safety and health of staff in the work environment 
  • Collaborate with Infection Prevention and Safety Committee in maintaining and delivery of medical surveillance programs 
  • Monitor and follow up for occupational exposures and surveillance of infectious disease programming in conjunction with infection prevention

 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and administer injections, immunizations according to standing orders and protocols
  • Deliver Respiratory Fit testing Program for staff according to policy and procedures.
  • Answer, respond and document telephone calls appropriately.
  • Laboratory Results- Review and follow up with per standing orders, protocols and policy. 
  • Track and maintain Employee Health Records of all students, contracted workers, employees, provider and volunteers
  • Creates and Submits reports to meet NHSN tracking requirements
  • Assists in the compiling and preparation of the Safety and Infection Prevention Reports
  • Maintains the OSHA log including the meeting the annual distribution requirement
  • Distribute and/or complete mailings for program reminders, lab results or other letters as needed.
  • Submit appropriate charges for services rendered
  • Assists in the transcription of employee correspondence

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
  • Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
  • Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department
  • Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability
  • Assist in emergent situations with knowledge and skill how to provide first aid and CPR while initiating the correct code 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Practical Nursing 
  • Current MN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Occupational Health care Setting

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Strong communication skills 
  • Ability to present and teach to small and large groups alike
  • Proficient at MS Office (emphasis in Excel) 

 

Confidentiality

  • Maintains employee privacy including the protected maintenance of the employee health record
  • Involved in communication and/or dictation of a confidential nature in regards to the health and welfare of the employees
