Job Title: IT Support Specialist (Mac & PC), part-time
Location: Chicago, IL (On-site)
Hours: 5-10 hours per week (Flexible, between the hours of 9-5 am, M-F)
Compensation: $15-$25 per hour, based on skills and experience

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and tech-savvy college student to provide short-term, part-time IT support for our team in Chicago. This in an on-site position in our downtown Chicago office, and is perfect for someone looking to gain practical experience in a professional environment while balancing their academic commitments. You will initially be completing an inventory and clean-up of Halo’s laptops and related hardware, and will also assist with various IT-related tasks, ensuring our Mac and PC systems run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Initial project involves assessing PC and Mac hardware inventory, preparing and optimizing laptops for current and future users.
Maintain accurate records of computer inventory, licenses, etc.
Complete comprehensive clean-up of both Windows PCs and Mac devices
Uninstall unnecessary programs, remove previous user data and configurations
Install and update operating systems (Windows and macOS) to the latest stable versions.
Install and configure essential software applications as per company standards.
Ensure all necessary drivers are installed and up-to-date.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for both Mac and PC workstations.
Set up and configure new user accounts and equipment.
Assist with software installation, configuration, and updates.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, basic wired connections).
Other IT-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience supporting both Apple Mac (macOS) and Windows PC operating systems.
Strong understanding of common hardware components and software applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable and punctual.
Must be based in Chicago, IL, and available for on-site work.
