We now wish to recruit an experienced GLOBAL LABORATORY ENGINEER (freelance or employee) to support project activities at one of our client sites in the Brussels area.

Our OTS (Outsourced Technical Services) department supports projects in different sectors on basis of project staffing with consultants working at the client’s site.
:Significant Tasks and Projects:
- Make sound decisions with agility
- Be a key actor and participate in the transformation of client sites
- Bring your technical expertise to ensure the best technical solution is provided to our customers
- Ensure the technical follow-up of all projects managed by the Engineering & Sites and Facilities
- Support other initiatives within Physical Asset Management
Responsibilities include:
- Working with Design Engineering Leads to define the best solution to meet the customer needs
- Ensuring the adherence to cGxP/EHS regulations/guidelines/pharmacopeia corresponding to
related systems - Developing and lead a professional network (internal and external to the client) constantly assessing
and seeking best practices for use at the site and for the broader client's network (active
participation at ISPE or similar networks is encouraged) - Defining the cost estimates for “Laboratory” related investments
- Providing Engineering expertise to users
- Developing a Competency Matrix at a global level
- Defining & Developing Technical Engineering Standards taking accounts regulations, business
constraints, safety & green aspects - Seeking opportunities to implement innovations in equipment lifecycle
- Promoting digitalization tools in your own discipline
Ideally you will have the following experience and skills:
- Engineer with 8 -10 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of core principles in various engineering disciplines including Laboratory (e.g. incubator, freezer, autoclave,…) and support systems (e.g. WFI, RO, clean steam, compressed gases, HVAC)
- Experience with verification, qualification & validation (both V-cycle and ASTM E2500
approaches) is an asset - Able to interpret and set-up P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFD (Process Flow Diagrams)
- Experience in Engineering Technologies supporting product development and research.
- Knowledge of Bio Safety Levels requirements (up to BSL2) and its impact on own discipline
- Knowledge of ATEX requirements and its impact on own discipline
- An ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment
- Experience in large and complex projects as well as both formal and informal leadership / coordination
- Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) contracting models
- Manages with a matrix of reporting lines and across functional areas
- Excellent communication skills (able to present to Senior Management) and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to explain complex issues and requirements in an easily understood manner. Able to translate customers’ needs in technical requirements
- Ability to apply previous learning and ideas to new situations, projects and teams, developing creative solutions to manage risk to a reasonably practicable level.
- Ability to communicate effectively and make presentations with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment. Able to both take direction and mentor other team members
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to compose
correspondence and reports - Full professional proficiency in French and English (both oral and written)
- Able to travel to Bulle (Switzerland) (ca. 1 week per 2 months)
- You are quickly available for this temporary project and possess a valid work permit to be able to work in Belgium.
