Job Summary
Under general supervision, creates, implements and optimizes multi-media marketing programs to drive engagement and generate leads using a full range of marketing channels. Provides relevant marketing content in support of investment “themes.” Analyzes program results and market trends and provides suggestions for how to capitalize on insights. Ensures that proper branding, communications, and marketing goals are met.

Partners with a team to execute large or multiple projects with significant scope or impact. Works with a team on assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity with appreciable latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Provides solutions to complex problems. Extensive contact with stakeholders and information sources is required to identify, research, and resolve complex problems to effectively develop and manage campaigns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•    Assists to delivering broad marketing campaigns, inclusive of public relations efforts, that are aligned with the organizational vision and strategies for growth, developing a clear, compelling and differentiated message and position for assigned products.
•    Supports marketing programs and assists others in developing a clear, compelling and differentiated message and position for the firm, boutique investment managers and assigned products.
•    Partners with subject matter experts and all marketing functions to deliver and measure engaging programs.
•    Interprets market research and current industry developments and provides results and insights into market trends and preferences.
•    Is familiar with analyses on complex products, sales strategies, capabilities, vulnerabilities and intentions of existing and potential competitors.
•    In partnership with the Client Segment Directors, identifies broad market segments and ensures that communication programs and media/channels are customized by segment profile.
•    May participate in planning, strategy, and production meetings.
•    Ensures materials meet contractual, regulatory, informational, marketing or product management requirements.
•    Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of
•    Advanced investment concepts and practices and procedures used in the securities industry.
•    Advanced marketing theories, technology, principles and best practices and their application to assigned functional area.
•    Customer analysis and profiling; market segmentations; program tracking and evaluation.
•    Knowledge of financial markets and products.
•    Superior principles of English language usage and grammar, required to write and edit high quality accurate copy.
•    Marketing process and overall business knowledge sufficient to help execute marketing strategies within the organization on inter-departmental, corporate, business-to-business, and/or client levels.
•    Understanding and monitoring of industry trends with the ability to determine and convey their potential impact upon various clients.

Skill in
•    Performing market research, identifying market segments, and incorporating requirements into planning processes.
•    Business writing, including drafting, editing and proofreading internal and external communications.
•    Organizational, planning and time management, as well as a “roll up the sleeves” mentality, sufficient to independently oversee multiple projects from start to completion.
•    Ability to translate data into insights
•    Analyzing and presenting research results.
•    Identifying and explaining trends.
•    Operating standard office equipment and using required software, including email, graphics, presentation, spreadsheet, database, and project management software.
•    Developing marketing campaigns.
•    Implementing strategies and tactical plans across organizational lines.
•    Managing the dissemination of marketing and product communications.
•    Delivering presentations to various size audiences and groups.

Ability to
•    Prioritize and work concurrently on multiple assignments to meet conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment while meeting specified deadlines. Maintain a ‘roll up the sleeves’ mentality.
•    Employ critical thinking and analysis to develop strategies to overcome client objections and assist others in doing the same.
•    Ensure a high level of customer service for assigned programs.
•    Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives.
•    Communicate effectively and proactively, both orally and in writing, to internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
•    Interact with management at all levels.
•    Foster strong partnerships to meet deliverables and drive results.
•    Embrace a test and learn mentality and apply conclusions to future work to optimize our programs and enhance the client experience.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Education/Previous Experience
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or a business-related field and a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible marketing or product management experience in the financial services industry.
•    Prior leadership experience preferred.
