The Human Resources Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level across several functional areas, including benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, new hire onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment law compliance. In this role, you should be organized and a competent professional with outstanding communication skills, comfortable dealing with people while carrying out Human Resource duties with accuracy and efficiency. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives that align with the broader business objectives.
- Oversee the entire recruitment process, including crafting job postings, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding of new employees.
- Administer employee benefit programs, guiding employees through enrollment and addressing inquiries promptly.
- Leverage ADP's WorkforceNow for effective HR data management and reporting.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues and grievances in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in the design and administration of training and development programs to enhance employee skills and foster professional growth.
- Monitor and support the performance management process, providing guidance for performance reviews and feedback.
- Manage ACA (Affordable Care Act) reporting and compliance duties to ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and maintain employer responsibilities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Prepare and maintain monthly employee reports, new-hire and absentee reports. Maintain and update company organizational charts, phone directory and other requested reports as needed.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities; however, this position provides support and guidance to HR administrators.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some tasks involve filing and extended computer use. These types of activities would require the ability to lift, bend, stand and sit as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. As a full-time position, the Human Resources Manager is eligible to participate in benefits coverage offered to Katalyst employees based on geographical location.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel:
Travel is not required of the Human Resources Manager, however, if an offsite meeting or errand should be requested, mileage is reimbursable to the employee at the current IRS mandated rate per mile.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years Human Resources experience, or
- Nine (9) years’ experience in human resources field
- ADP’s WorkforceNow HRIS experience preferred.
- Professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
