COMPENSATION: $89,649 - $109,820, Home Office Grade 9

THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Director of Facilities Services with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.
We are seeking a visionary and results-oriented Director of Facilities Services who will drive the strategic direction, innovation, and operational excellence of our facilities management program. This leader will be crucial in supporting the growth of our campuses, ensuring that YES Prep’s physical spaces contribute to our mission of educational equity, and maintaining facilities that provide an optimal learning environment for students and staff.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a high impact, manage a diverse portfolio of facilities, and innovate processes that will help us scale and enhance the services we provide to our school communities.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
Leadership & Strategic Oversight:
· Providing visionary leadership to drive facility operations towards excellence, innovation, and sustainable practices;
· Mentoring and developing your team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Budgeting & Financial Stewardship:
· Overseeing the development and management of the facilities services budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective operations;
· Working collaboratively with the Managing Director of Operational Services and leadership team to align the budget with organizational goals.
Operational Excellence:
· Innovating and implement processes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of facilities services, including preventive maintenance, emergency response, and outsourced service management;
· Ensuring that all facilities meet safety, security, and legal compliance standards.
Project Management & Execution:
· Leading facility projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution;
· Managing large-scale improvements, renovations, and campus enhancements, aligning each project with YES Prep’s long-term goals.
Vendor & Contract Management:
· Overseeing all third-party contractor relationships, ensuring performance excellence and cost-effectiveness;
· Streamlining vendor management processes and negotiating contracts that support the district’s goals.
Innovation & Best Practices:
· Driving continuous innovation in facilities management by researching and implementing industry best practices, incorporating sustainable design and energy-efficient solutions into all operations;
· Encouraging a culture of innovation among the facilities team.
Team Development & Leadership:
· Building a high-performing team of Facilities Managers, technicians, custodial staff, and vendors;
· Providing training and development opportunities for staff, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.
Compliance & Risk Management:
· Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as district policies and procedures;
· Staying ahead of industry trends and regulations by implementing proactive measures to minimize risks and protect the district’s assets.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
· Acting as the primary point of contact for facility-related concerns by collaborating with campus leaders to ensure their needs are met and providing ongoing support;
· Fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders, including campus leadership, vendors, and families.

THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution or at least 4 years of equivalent experience in facilities leadership or a related field.
- Proven leadership and management experience, with a track record of developing and empowering teams to achieve high performance.
- Expertise in facilities management, preventive maintenance, and emergency response processes.
- Experience managing budgets and optimizing financial resources.
- Strong project management skills, with a focus on delivering results on time and within budget.
- Proven ability to innovate and implement best practices that improve efficiency, sustainability, and the overall quality of services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Microsoft Teams and Office 365.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to anticipate challenges and create solutions proactively.

THE NICE TO HAVES
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar leadership role in facilities management or third-party contract management, particularly in a K-12 environment.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient building solutions.
- Professional certifications such as CPM (Certified Property Manager), SMA (Systems Maintenance Administrator), or similar credentials.
- Knowledge of educational facilities operations
THE PERKS
- Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.

- Paid Time Off – Employees working 20+ hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
