As a Risk Claims & Driver Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the risk and driving incident process, from intake to resolution in areas such as the Driver Safety Program, CDL/DOT compliance, and incident and claims management. You will also serve as a resource for Risk Management, working on reporting and analytical projects for the team, becoming familiar with key data sources used in daily operations and responding promptly to ad hoc requests. 

  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing communications and outreach to both internal and external customers regarding Risk Management and Driving program.
  • You will support Risk Analyst with Certificates of Insurance Tracking, to include data collection, follow-up, and data entry. You will also support Risk Analyst in maintaining the two broker insurance SharePoint sites to include organization of libraries, uploading documents, and moving documents from SharePoint to the record retention site as needed.
  • You will assist with intake of driving incident reports and serve as a subject matter expert for incident reporting within the Risk Management Information System (RMIS), provide support and serve as back-up to any incident type as needed.
  • You will oversee and manage Risk Management’s records retention and compliance processes, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • You will maintain internal files site and ensure timely disposal of records to mitigate risks and support organizational efficiency. 
  • You will provide support to the Claims Manager in compiling and presenting claims data and loss run reports for quarterly reviews and annual insurance renewals, spanning multiple policy lines.
  • You will assist with gathering and organizing documentation in response to discovery requests for litigation, pre-litigation, and public disclosure requests.
  • You will be responsible for managing a range of projects, including audits, driver safety initiatives, and other tasks as needed, to enhance risk management and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Experienced – You have two (2) years of experience supporting a program project, to include documentation and data collection.
  • Desired – We hope you have attended some college, ideally earning a two-year degree. We also hope you have relevant coursework or work experience in areas such as risk and safety, fleet management, or familiarity with Washington State driving statutes. Additionally, we hope you thrive in a team environment but are equally capable of working independently.

You have time management skills including prioritizing work and meeting deadlines and can handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information with discretion. You also have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Technically Skilled – You are proficient in a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Forms, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work during emergencies.
  • Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
  • Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
  • Overtime Eligible – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.
