Coordinates and schedules aircraft inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on fixed-wing or rotary aircraft as required by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards and regulations. Work involves serving as an aircraft mechanic, coordinating with external entities to schedule aircraft maintenance and repairs, and keeping current of aviation and aircraft developments to include industry guidelines, standards, applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Serves as a lead worker. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Essential Duties:
- Serves as a lead worker by serving as a resource for complex questions; assigning work; presenting workflow and operational updates to the supervisor/manager; providing input on team members’ career conversations; and approving leave requests to ensure operations coverage.
- Works with external entities to schedule aircraft maintenance and repair work.
- Provides technical assistance to offsite aircraft via phone or email.
- Determines workload and prioritizes aircraft maintenance and repair work, and inspections.
- Reviews, approves, and enters completed aircraft maintenance and repair work.
- Monitors tools and parts inventories and obtains supplies.
- Reviews completed work to ensure that maintenance and inspections meet applicable standards and regulations, and that aircraft are ready for operation.
- Completes inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of aircraft engines, components, and systems.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
Experience: 5 years of experience in Fixed/Rotary wing aircraft maintenance and repair work. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
- Airframe Mechanic Cert
- Cert Powerplant Mechanic

- Read and work with color coded electrical wiring
