Learning and Development Specialist Position

The L&D Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the credit union’s training programs and employee learning experience. This position will research training needs within the credit union and develop programs that reflect the strategic plan of the organization. They will communicate credit union goals and direction to employees, supervise staff learning, and ensure that ongoing development of all employees reflects priorities and an exceptional quality of service to members. Additional tasks include conducting training sessions and workshops, new hire onboarding, executive education, leadership development, skills assessment, individual development plans, investigating available training resources, and measuring the effectiveness of learning initiatives.

Requirements


Required Skills  

· Thorough understanding of training, development, and coaching techniques and methodologies. 

· Savvy computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

· Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and listening abilities.

· Ability to analyze and interpret employee performance metrics.

· Ability to speak and present effectively before groups of members, employees, and regulatory agencies. 

· Ability to make decisions, act, and accept responsibility for results.

· Ability to act appropriately and professionally in any situation.

· Ability to operate general office machinery and equipment such as photocopier, fax machine, computers, laptops, and telephones.


Desired Education

· A bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent certifications in training and development methods. 

· Minimum of 2-3 years experience training individuals and groups in all levels of a business. 

· Credit union or banking experience is highly preferred.
