Join our Engineering Department in a dynamic role blending project leadership and hands-on engineering support for mining operations. The Surface Engineer/Project Manager is instrumental in maintaining and optimizing refuse sites, fan and electrical sites, pipe and pump stations, water-handling, pond dipping, etc. Your strong teamwork, communication, and technical instincts will help drive efficiency and safety across our operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead project planning: develop scopes of work, bidding, and oversee project execution.
• Manage budgets effectively—track costs and help ensure projects are delivered within financial guidelines.
• Oversee site management and development for refuse sites, fan sites, shaft sites, and pump houses.
• Conduct site and pond inspections to ensure regulatory and operational standards are met.
• Perform material take-offs.
• Invoicing
• Scheduling
• Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline operations through research and innovation.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of project management experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management and organizational abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project

Preferred Requirements

• Familiarity with Auto-CAD
• Background in civil or mine engineering (PE is a plus)
• Construction management experience highly valued

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mining engineering preferred – but not required
• Relevant experience in construction management or similar practical roles is equally welcome.
