POSITION SUMMARY
The Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for developing the vision and strategy of the organization within all technical domains in support of the company’s goals and is also responsible for all IT-related duties for the company.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consult with management to make certain all technical needs are fulfilled to meet business requirements.
- Formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies.
- Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
- Maintain technical operations on a day-to-day basis.
- Determine scope and priorities of projects in support of business needs.
- Develop and implement plans for system upgrades, hardware and software deployments (both for internal and external users), budget, and staffing needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor management information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
- Negotiate and contract with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products as needed.
- Manage computer operation scheduling, backup, storage, and retrieval functions.
- Review reports of computer and peripheral equipment operation, malfunction, and maintenance to determine costs/impact and address problem.
- Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans.
- Maintain the company’s office phone system.
- Handle confidential information/matters in a discrete and professional manner.
- Perform other function and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related major/field.
- Ten plus years of progressive professional experience and responsibility within Information Technology. Prior experience managing remote locations is preferred.
- Expert level of understanding with a wide range of operating systems from Windows 2000 and XP to current and software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with the following software programs is preferred:
- QuickBooks
- Fishbowl
- IBM Notes
- EPDM
- SharePoint
- Certifications in A+, Network+, CISM, CCNA/CCNP, and MCSA/MCSE, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, allowing for open, honest, and consistent communication.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-paced environment, bearing high levels of responsibility and accountability and keeping the best interests of the business in sight.
- Ability to evaluate information quickly, identify key issues, and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgement, experience, and common sense.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a group, foster a culture of teamwork, and promote a positive working environment.
- Ability to prioritize workload but be flexible to adjust to changing deadlines.
- Ability to maintain the highest standard of personal conduct in performing all duties.
- Ability to approach problems with a certain degree of creativity and latitude with a proactive mindset.
- Ability to deal with difficult/problem situations and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to build a working relationship with customers and internal personnel based on respect and good rapport.
- Possess excellent organization and time management skills.
- Flexibility to adjust to work routines/schedules, as required, to meet the needs of the company and expectations of customers.
- Ability to travel, 5% or more, within North America.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Operate basic office equipment, such as a keyboard, mouse, and copier/printer/scanning machine.
- Lift 50lbs regularly and with assistance, up to 75lbs on occasion.
- Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.).
- Sit/stand for long periods of time; up to 8-10 hours a day.
